Privacy Policy
This policy explains how we collect, use, and share personal data when you use ConfluenceMeter. We aim to follow applicable privacy laws, including the GDPR where relevant.

2. Data we collect
We collect the minimum necessary data to provide and protect the Service:
- Account data: email address, user identifiers, authentication metadata, subscription/plan status.
- Product usage data: watchlist symbols, alert rules you create, settings/preferences, and in-app activity needed to operate features.
- Technical/security logs: IP address, device/browser info (user-agent), timestamps, and event logs used for security and abuse prevention.
- Support communications: content of messages you send to us.
- Payments: handled by Paddle as Merchant of Record. We do not store full payment card details. We may receive limited order metadata (e.g., subscription status, country, transaction identifiers) to provide access and support.
3. How we use data (purposes) and legal bases
- Provide the Service (contract necessity).
- Account management and support (contract necessity and/or legitimate interests).
- Security, fraud prevention, abuse detection (legitimate interests).
- Compliance with legal obligations (legal obligation).

4. Sharing and processors (third parties)
We may share data with service providers acting as processors to run the Service, such as:
- Paddle (Merchant of Record): payments, tax handling, receipts and billing support.
- Supabase (or similar): authentication and database/storage needed for core functionality.
- Infrastructure/hosting providers: to serve the application.
- Email/support tooling: for transactional messages and support workflows (if applicable).
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only as needed to provide the Service, comply with law, or protect rights and security.
5. International transfers
Some providers may operate outside the EEA. Where applicable, we rely on appropriate safeguards (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses) to protect data.
6. Data retention
- We keep account data while your account is active and as needed to provide the Service.
- After deletion/closure, we may retain limited data for a reasonable period for security, fraud prevention, and legal compliance.
- Payment records are primarily maintained by Paddle in line with their legal obligations as Merchant of Record.
7. Your rights

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures (e.g., TLS/HTTPS in transit, access controls) to protect data. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
